Australia

Australia is a huge country offering the traveler an endless variety of things to do--great restaurants, sports activities, and cultural events. There are large cities like Sydney with its magnificent harbor, and there are remote areas such as the Outback, the heart of Australia, with thousands of miles of blue skies and red soil.

The Great Barrier Reef stretches for 1200 miles along the coast of Queensland. It starts around Gladstone about 150 miles off the coast and extends north where the reef becomes more continuous and approaches the coast.  Scattered along the coast there are many islands, some being truly coral cays. (See
Heron Island and Lizard Island.)

When visiting Australia, don't miss Daintree National Park, where the rainforest meets the sea.
