Lizard Island

Lizard Island is a very large island with a small exclusive resort. It is part of the Lizard group which are the only high continental islands close to the outer Barrier Reef. This is a wonderful retreat resort offering natural beauty on an island so pristine and untouched that when you walk the beach often the only footprints you will see will be your own. Lizard Island has just reopened after a 6 month extensive renovation. There are only 40 rooms each slightly different with a subtle mix of color and texture. Situated right on the Great Barrier Reef, this island is renowned for its diving and fishing sites. Here is the world famous "Cod Hole" where divers come to view the massive potato cod. Aside from the marvelous diving there are 24 white sand beaches on the island to explore.
