This island is the most sought after scuba destination in the Western Pacific. Without question Palau is one of the most celebrated dive areas on the planet, with its lagoons, corals and reef passes which are filled with the tropical ocean's most beautiful, unusual and exciting creatures.
It's the kind of place where no two dives, even in the same place, are ever alike. There are sharks, turtles, mantas and big tuna. In some spots, schooling fish gather by the thousands. Beautiful soft corals and huge gorgonian fans reach out from sheer walls, and calm, sleepy lagoons are filled with delicate hard corals of every description. The water is clear. The visibility is normally 100 feet or more, and warm, usually about 84 degrees. |

There is a $15.00 dive permit that must be purchased for all divers. It is valid for one year. Micronesia has a tropical oceanic climate that is consistently warm and humid with a uniform year round temperature of about 80 degrees. The driest months are December through April. The water temperature ranges from the low to mid 80's.
We recommend a kayak trip on a non-diving day. Everyone seems to enjoy this trip. It is a combination of kayaking and snorkeling, and the scenery is spectacular.
A storyboard is a great souvenir to bring home. They are intricate word carvings that may be purchased at the shop at the Koror jail.
For divers who want to experience a more remote area with great diving, we can arrange for you to stay at the Storyboard Beach Resort on the island of Peleliu, about an hour by boat from Koror to the island.
There are excellent local and Japanese restaurants in the town of Koror. A taxi ride from most resorts is quite economical. |
