Ambua Lodge

This lodge is in the Tari Valley at 7000 feet elevation. Ambua Lodge has won the Pacific Heritage award for its sensitive approach to tourism. It is surrounded by Mountain rainforests in an area of wilderness where one can trek along the scenic trails. Here you will visit the Huli Wigmen whose famous wigs are made from human hair and decorated with feathers, cuscus fur and yellow daisies. This area is the last stone age civilization to be discovered by western man. This mountain range was still unknown by the Lae brothers when they first discovered the eastern and western highlands.

How to get there

Air Niugini flys 4 times a week from Port Moresby to Tari. This trip can be used with an air pass combined with a dive destination.
